Term information
The choroidal stroma adjacent to the tapetum lucidum contains numerous small blood vessels that penetrate the tapetal layer to form a single-layered capillary network, known as the choriocapillaris, on the surface of the tapetum. The tapetum cellulosum is thus interposed between the large branching vessels in the choroid and the single layer of the choriocapillaris beneath the retinal epithelium[PMID:14738502]
