Term information
comment
Two to four flat or slightly rod-like proximal pectoral radials, bilaterally, can be found in teleosts. Pectoral proximal radials are commonly hour-glass or rectangular shaped. The presence of four pectoral proximal radials is interpreted as a synapomorphy of teleosts (Patterson 1977, Arratia 1999).
